It’s been a while since I posted on my website, but I’m pleased to report that even though it seems I’ve been absent without leave (A.W.O.L.), that I’m still alive and kicking. I had to take leave from writing and posting to get the house ready to sell. After much deliberation, my wife and I came to the conclusion that our house is too large for two people and a cat, therefore, it’s time to downsize.
This of course required a thorough deep cleaning and repairs that have been put off for months. Okay, I confess. In some cases, those repairs have needed to be done for years. My wife, Susan, made me a list of things that needed fixing, which at times seemed to expand to the vast corners of the universe. Finally, each task was marked off one by one, except for a stubborn outdoor porch light that I eventually gave up on. In a rather pertinent attitude, I suggested that I would knock off fifty bucks off the price of the house, or even hang a nice flashlight beside the defunct porch light. Tired of my insulence, my wife finally gave up on her obsession with the pesky light.
We just got rid of a lot of junk at a recent yard sale. You know, those quality items you decide to sell because they won’t fit in a fifty gallon size trash bag. So, the realty “for sale” sign is now staked proudly in our front yard.
Hopefully, I can get back to the task of writing on my next novel, Running Boy, and posting my ramblings more often, that is, until we find a buyer and make the big move.
